The film is set during the 70’s and the present. In 70's Shah Rukh Khan’s character falls in love with a beautiful young girl (played by newcomer Deepika Padukone). However, certain incidents take place, and Shah Rukh Khan is murdered.
but is reborn soon after, and starts to remember his previous life when he reached his adult age he goes in search of the girl that he left behind in the 70s. The only problem is that his love is now in her golden age and there is a huge age difference.What follows forms the climax

The story is a mix of Hrithik Roshan’s Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Rishi Kapoor’s Karz.
There was a buzz that it is remake of Rishi Kapoor’s Karz, But the Director, Farah Khan has denied all the rumors .Farah Khanhas gone a step further than his brother ‘Sajid Khan’ and has more than 30 actors dancing to choreographer's tune in the track Deewangi Deewangi in the film.

Farah fights with Shahrukh Khan

Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan got into a terrible fight during the shooting of Om Shanti Om on the film’s sets. They were seen pulling each other’s hair madly. This was strictly for the camera! This was for a scene which required Farah Khan to be making an appearance in her second directorial venture . ! Well, the she won’t be seen playing herself or would be restricting her appearance in the end title rolls of this mega movie. Instead she would be there right at the beginning of the film enacting the role of a junior artist

Ghar ka Disco

The rumour is floating around that SRK's wife Gauri will be for the first time ever, step out to face the camera with his hubby SRK in Darde Disco ... so surely it is now Ghar ka Disco. Yes, the proud homemaker is doing a small walk-in role in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, for which Gauri herself is the producer.

It’s the blink-and-you-will-miss-it kind of appearance . The scene requires Gauri to walk a red carpet . Typical of Farah, the technicians and crew members of the movie take a bow too in this number.

Deepika Padukone to dance with Rajesh Khanna, Sunil Dutt, Jeetendra

Farah Khan will recreate the magic of 70’s by presenting her new girl, Deepika romancing with the 70’s legends Sunil Dutt, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra in her forthcoming flick, Om Shanti Om using the SFX technology. Farah added that SFX had been used in the song where Deepika dances with Sunil Dutt, Jeetendra and Rajesh Khanna. A similar sequence was created in the opening scene Jaan-e-Mann, directed by Farah's husband, Shirish Kunder, where Salman receives an award and is surrounded by the actors of the 70′s.

How SRK get perfect body with abs in om shanti om

Director Farah Khan’s second film Om Shanti Om has been creating quite a buzz even before its release and the six-pack abs that SRK has been flaunting are just adding to the hype. And they were the focus of attention even at the music launch of the film.“I got so inspired. I treated Shah Rukh just like Ramu treats his heroines like when they are get out of the sea or when the focus is on the rear,” Farah says talking about Shah Rukh’s abs in the song Dard-e-disco.

And of course, there’s a story behind SRK’s perfect body.

“I always wanted that before I retire from choreography I should at least do one song that I can have Shah Rukh as an item boy. And we had discussed during Main Hoon Na but then he had a back operation and could not work out. But he promised me if I will ever remove my shirt, it will be for you,” says Farah.

And so the King Khan kept his promise. Shah Rukh khan may be content with his new image, but when he needs a reality check he goes to none other than his son Aryan.
“My son says ‘now you are not fat’. He thinks I am just about ok and physically fit. But he thinks I can still improve. So, I will keep trying,” SRK says modestly.
